Criticism as inspiration - A snapshot of myself

Sat Feb 25, 2006, 3:42 PM
I'm scared to be in closed spaces with people. I freak out because I'm inhaling the same air as they just exhaled. It's weird and gross. In an effort to try and make myself feel better, I think of how some air I inhale might be the same air that an amazing inventor, artist, thinker or lover has previously exhaled. I think about how the same air they breathed in went and fueled the brain synapses that gave them the original idea for that invention, piece of art, thesis or caress and how that air is inside me right now - how I'm a part of them and that wonderful thing they've created with their breath.. their.. life.

Hello,
I'm not sure if this comment is appreciated, but I stumbled across your deviantart page completely by accident (I have a tendency to wander from internet page to internet page clicking on random links until I find something interesting) and felt compelled to leave you a message.
You take AMAZING photos. A compliment coming from me is usually not well received as I tend to muck words up and things usually come out completely the wrong way, but I wanted you to know that this is a compliment. You really have an incredible talent and I have always believed that talent should be appreciated, no matter who is doing the appreciating. You’re work makes people like me realize that there really is beauty in the world; you’re work gives people like me hope that not all things are bad.
Keep it up.
Sincerely,
Sarah Porter
ps. would you be offended if I named one of your photos as a favourite? I realize that I am not exactly in anyone’s good books (miscommunication seems to be the only communication we have as it’s all done through a third party. It would be nice if one day we could talk and sort things out, although I really do understand that is not something you want. People generally don’t like talking to me as I am quite shy which usually comes out snobbish – despite my best intentions).

I'm pretty sure that everything that you have ever taken a photo of makes me cry a little bit.
